Last thursday night I dropped by the race briefing for the BMD102. Yes, I am running the BDM102 in just a few hours. I am trying to prepare all of my stuff at the moment at the same time trying to write something and updating friends. There are some few changes or rather “updates” with the rules and regulations this year compared to the previous years of the BDM102. This is a good thing because change means that things are improving for the benefit of the runners and also that of the entire ultrarunnining community.
This time, it’s Vicky Ras and I who will be representing TEAM REEBOK for the BDM102 2012 edition. Three weeks ago, I was with Mark Anthony Rodica aka Beep Beep and we thank God for seeing us through in finishing the BDM160 ultramarathon. Makes me wonder, why am I doing this again? Well, I am doing this because I love doing it. But I am also running to help promote the Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation Philippines. They treat children and young adults born with cleft palates and the treatment is from surgery to post operations. For more details, please check their website at www.ncfphil.org as I will continue to share the mission and vision of the group throughout the year since I chose the NCF as my main advocacy for the year. It’s time to level up. It’s time to be more involved not just in running, but also in giving back to the community. I may not be there to help our NCF directly through their outreach programs but I can run, I have a blog that I can share my life and their stories and I believe that as long as I stay committed to my purpose in life, God will continue to aid me in my passions in life such as running.

After two years of chatting on Facebook, I finally got the chance to meet John Lao. He's based in Saudi Arabia.
In case you have the chance to read this before the gunstart and even during the actual race of the BDM102, don’t forget to cheer us runners. It’s really a big help. For now, that’s about it. It’s time for me to get back to checking my gear. As I have shared in my Facebook wall and my life verse from 1 Corinthians 9:26 NASB — “Therefore I run is such a way as not without aim.” This race is dedicated to three guys who have been a blessing in my personal and professional life. To Ickoy de Leon, my Dgroup Leader. This long race is for you! To Daniel Gawat, hope to see you when you come home for your vacation! And lastly, to Johnny Yu of TEAM NETWORK, for professional insights related to emergency preparedness and risk management. I owe a lot to you guys for wisdom and the laughs we have shared together.
